The Arc of Dallas mission is to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual and related developmental disabilities. It was formed in 1951 by a group of parents who joined forces to fight for their children's rights to be educated in the public school system. The Arc of today still serves as a voice in the local, state and national community. The Arc of Dallas service area includes Collin, Dallas and Rockwall counties. Most programs and services take place in local communities and neighborhoods in conjunction with community partners including schools, churches, recreation centers, and others. Our organization offers both advocacy and direct services.
